Question
Was there any difference between the values for g (gravity) with extra mass on the cart, versus empty? Can you explain your measured results?
A roller coaster works much like the cart on the inclined plane. What difference, if any would there be in the acceleration of the roller coaster cars if they are filled with all adults (high mass) versus all children (low mass)?
If you have a mixed group of people on the coaster, should the heavy people be in the front or the back, or does it make any difference?
Explanation / Answer
g is acceleration due to gravity. It doesnt depend on mass of cart. So answer is
NO DIFFERENCE.
acceleration of object on incline plane
a= g*sin
So accelation depends on angle of inclination onlt.
It is always better to heavy mass in back of vehical on inclined plane.
