a. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG or hCG) should be injected to induce ovulation right away. The hCG leads to the final maturation of eggs by mimicing the function of luteinizing hormone (LH) surge in a naturally occurring menstrual cycle. This leads to the release of the eggs from the follicle walls and ovulation occurs in 36 hours.

b. Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) should be injected to induce ovulation in a few days. The FSH and LH are naturally released in anterior lobe of pituitary gland controlled by the hypothalamus. These hormones stimulate the process of ovulation. The FSH stimulates the growth of ovarian follicle and FSH stimulates the process of ovulation. These hormones can also be used in combination of hCG to induce ovulation within 36 hours.
