(Point 21) Use the folowing picture and experiment data obtained. A student 21) Use th uxperie nd g from this Dats is given like the fellewing te picture an ass 90 experiment Mass, 0g and angle, 5° is used auS 90 em Following isthe graph ofT vs Sqrt L, ie.,NL ). T vs sqrt L 2.1 1.9 1.8 1.7 1.6 1.5 1.4 0.75 0.8 0.ss 09 0.95 11.05 (o) Find the slope using 2 and Sh data in this experiment from the graph (b) Find the gravitational constant g in this experiment (c) What is your expectation time for 20 oscillation when the length is 1.4 m. Calculate this with theoretically a)

Explanation / Answer

a) second data coordinates are ( sqrt(0.7),33.88/20) = (0.836,1.694) =(x1 , y1) say

fifth data coordinates are (sqrt(1), 40.32/20 )= (1,2.016) = (x2, y2) say

slope=(y2-y1) / (x2-x1) = (2.016-1.694)/(1-0.836)= 1.9634

b) we know that, T= 2*3.14*sqrt(L/g)

we can see from the above formula that a graph of T and sqrt(L), will give a slope equal to 2*3.14/sqrt(g)

hence, 1.9634= 2*3.14/sqrt(g)

g= 10.23 m/s2

c) we can say now that the equation of the line is

T=1.9634*sqrt(L) {graph is in between T and sqrt(L)}

putting, L=1.4 we get,

T=2.323 seconds

time for 20 oscillations would be, 2.323*20=46.46 seconds
