Question

A- how many kilograms of water must evaporate from a 60.0-kg woman to lower her body temperature by 0.750°

B- is this a reasonable amount of water to evaporate in the form of perspiration, assuming the relative humidity of the surrounding air is low? #5. (2 points) (a) How many kilograms of water must evaporate fron a 600-kg woman to lower her body temperature by 0.750° C? (b) Is this a reasonable amount of water to evaporate in the form of of the surrounding air is low? perspiration, assuming the relative humidity

Explanation / Answer

Given,

m = 60 kg ; T = 0.75 deg C

We know that,

Q = m c T

m Lv = m C T

m = m C T/ Lv

For human body, C = 3470 J/kg ; Lv = 2430000 J/kg

m = 60 x 3470 x 0.75/2430000 = 0.0643 kg

Hence, m = 0.0643 kg = 64.3 grams

b)Yes indeed it is reasonable amount of water loss from a human body.
