Question
You are on Earth and observe three starships Starship A, with a clock placed aboard and traveling at speed v-c/3 relative to Earth Starship B, traveling at speed v-c/3 relative to Earth in the same direction as Starship A. Starship C, traveling at speed c/3 relative to Earth, but in the opposite direction 1) In which frame of reference can we measure a time interval equal to the time interval measured by the clock aboard Starship A? 1) Answer is starship B.
As starship B is traveling with the same speed as starship A and also in the same direction as starship A. So the relative velocity between both the ship's will be zero. Thus relative separation will be zero. So the time measurement will be same .
3) Answer is starship C.
As starship C is traveling with the same speed as A but in opposite directions. So the relative displacement will increase and will increase most in this case only. So time measurement will differ by longest time interval in this case.
Thankyou.
