Just need 2.8. I have attached the shutting the door problem in case you need it
Question 2.7) How does the orientation of the hinge (and therefore the door's axis of rotation) relate to the direction of the cross product iapp × F? 2 et C=AXB Question 2.8) The cross product of two vectors is another vector, perpendicular to the original pair: C- AxB. An intuitive way to think about the cross product's direction the direction of C-is as an axis of rotation. The magnitude of the cross product C IBI sine describes how effective vector B is at rotating vector A around the vector e How does this way of thinking about the cross product apply to the previous questions about shutting the door?Explanation / Answer
Solution) We usually apply the concept of torque in opening or shutting a door .
We have torque T= r(perpendicular distance) × F(applied force)
So T= rFsin(theeta)
theeta is the angle between r and F
As we have written C=A×B=ABsin(theeta)
Similarly in previous problem it is torque that is acting so it is T=rFsin(theeta)
Here r and F are both perpendicular to each other
