Explanation / Answer

The impulse applied to the ball by the floor is the area under the curve on the plot
the area of a triangle is
A = ½bh
so the impulse is
I = ½(0.004)(1000)
I = 2 Ns

As impulse changes the momentum of an object
the original momentum is mv

y = ½gt²
t = (2y/g)
v = at = gt
v = g(2y/g)
v = 9.81(2(2.1)/9.81)
v = 6.42 m/s

p = mv
p = 0.180(6.42)
p = 1.155Ns

as the original momentum was downward and the impulse was upward,
-1.55 + 2 = 0.45

0.45 = 0.180(v2)
v2 = 2.5 m/s upward

v = gt
2.5 = 9.81t
t = 0.255 s

y = ½gt²
y = ½9.81(0.255)²
y = 0.319 m
