The first shot moves the ball 12 ft due north, the seoond 8.5 ft southeast, and the third 3.0 ft due west What shot would have allowed the golfer to sink the putt in a single attempt? Give both the distance and direction 2 The Helix A particle moves in a belix. In one coordinate system, its position as a function of time is given by cosut ot R. f, and v are constants: Value 0.0 em 1.0 cm/s Constant Quantity radius angular frequency 10.0- velocity Answer the following questions about the trajectory of the particle, You may report cither a numerical or a symbolic answer, or both (a) Find the distance of the particle from the origin, r(t), as a function of time (b) Find the velocity t) of the particle as a function of time. (c) Find the speed (t) of the particle as a function of time (d) Find the acceeration a(t) of the particle as a function of time. )Find the magnitude of the particle's acceleration a(t) as a function of time.Explanation / Answer
1)
Given,
d1 = 12 ft due north ; d2 = 8.5 ft south east; d3 = 3 ft due west
the components of the displacement will be:
d1 = 0,12 ft
d2 = 8.5 cos-45,8.5 sin-45 = 6.01,-6.01
d3 = (-3,0)
d1 + d2 + d3 = [(0 + 6.01 - 3), (12 -6.01 + 0) = 3.01, 5.99
So the length of the resultant will be:
R = sqrt (3.01^2 + 5.99^2) = 6.70 ft
theta = tan^-1(5.99/3.01) = 63.32 deg
Hence, R = 6.7 ft and theta = 63.32 deg
