Calculate the dc resistance of the solenoid. (6 points) b. Find the inductance of this solenoid. (6 points) c. A = 1.1 x 10^-6 m^2 ; d = 6.6 cm ; L = 4.2 m ; N = 6400 turns

a)we know that,

R = rho L/A

R = 1.68 x 10^-8 x 4.2/1.1 x 10^-6 = 0.064 Ohm

Hence, R = 0.064 Ohm

b)We know that the inductance of a solenoid is given by:

L = u N^2 A/L

L = 4 pi x 10^-7 x 6400^2 x 1.1 x 10^-6/4.2 = 1.35 x 10^-5 H

Hence, L = 1.35 x 10^-5 H

c)Xl = R

2 pi f L = R

f = R/2 pi L = 0.064/(2 x 3.14 x 1.35 x 10-5) = 755 Hz

Hence, f = 755 Hz
