Question
Need explantion how the direction works by right hand rule and cross product. Answers that is stated are correct, but I need a very through explantion about the process.
Consider two separate cases: an electron moving in a region with an electric field and magnetic field, and a proton Electron Proton (a) What is the direction of the force due to the electric field on the electron, and on the proton? electron F | (b) What is the direction bf the force due tb the magnetic field on the electron, and on the proton?elucha F- ixExplanation / Answer
Since you are answers are correct the only thing you want to understand is direction
In case of electric field it applies a fordce on the proton in same direction and opposite in case of electrons.
For magnetic field or any vector product you encounter, for us v×B
Just stretch your fingers of right hand in direction of v ( first element of your cross) and orient your palm in direction of B( second element of cross) then the thumb will indicate the required direction.
