Explanation / Answer

Q. 2.68)-

Part A)-

Lets assume that tina meets the david at distance S in time T from where she started then-

For David-

S = vT

S= 30(T) ...(1)

For Tina-

S = uT +1/2aT2 (where u =0, as per the question)

S = 0 +1/2(2.8)T2

S = 1.4T2 ...(2)

From eqn 1 & 2 -

1.4T2 - 30T =0

T(1.4T -30) = 0

T = 0 or T = 30/1.4 = 21.42 sec.

then-

S = 30T = 642.6m

Part B)-

V2 = U2 +2aS

V2 = 0 +2(2.80)(642.6)

V = 59.99 = 60m/s

Q 2.58)-

Part A)-

V2 = U2 +2aS (Where U=0, As per the question)

25 = 0 + 2(1)S

S = 12.5 m

Part B)-

S = uT +1/2aT2 (where u =0, as per the question)

200 = 0 +1/2(1)T2

T = 20 sec
