We measured acceleration of a cart as it moves down an incline and compared it with the theoretical values. We have our result within 3.5% of the theoretical value. This shows that in actual practice, the effect of friction cannot be ignored. Also, on addition of masses the accelaration decreases, which confirms that along with friction, air resistance is also significant, which is usually ignored in theoretical calculations.
