Question

find the magnitude of the net force acting on the skier when(a) she is accelerated from rest to a speed of 11 m / s in 8.0 sand (b) she lets go of tow rope and glides to a halt in 21 s I view the answer this morning for 78P but it is not availablenow... what happened? Thanks. Explanation / Answer

   we use the newtons second law of motion andequation of motion so that    F = m a       = m (v - vo) t (a)    when the skier accelerates from rest to a speedof 11 m / s in 8.0 s then the required force will be    F = (73 kg) [(11 m / s - 0) / 8.0 s]       = ........ N (b)    in this case we get    F = (73 kg) [(0 - 11 m / s) / 21.0s]       = ........ N       = ........ N
