If someone could please help me with this it would be greatlyappreciated!

A rocket is fired from the ground as a projectile. At the top ofits trajectory, at a horizontal distance of 260m from the launchpoint, the rocket breaks into two pieces: one fragment having 1/3of the mass of the original rocket and the remaining piece having2/3 of the original mass. The smaller piece falls straight down tothe ground beneath the break-up point while the larger continueson. At what horizontal distance from the launch point does thelarger fragment land? (Hint: by one-dimensional kinematics, bothpieces must hit the ground at the same time.)

Explanation / Answer

from the concept of center of mass when there a bodywhich explodes into pieces at some point of the trajectorylike this though different pieces move [ after explosion ] withdifferent velocities center of the system completes the parabolicpath and moves and reaches the end of the parabolic path. here it explodes at the heighest point hence it further moves another 260m horizontally before reachesground. hence horizontal distance from the launch point does the largerfragment land =520m
