By combining various options like reducing ,recycling and reusing along with bio gasification, composting , thermal treatment and land filling a sustainable , affordable and acceptable method of waste management can be achieved.
The advantages of using the program are.
1. The use of commingled containers for recycling common wastes is easy and convenient for both the residents as well as the recycling attendants as it saves time and the collected waste can be segregated easily.
2.The collection of organic or green waste and the commingled tubs at different times provide easy transportation to the respective units .
3. Green waste that is stored separately can be easily recycled and composted.
4.The designing of the products for specific recycling may lead to the cost reduction in the manufacturing of such bins at the source level.
The residents opting for 96-gallon container may be paying more when compared to the other two choices under the first option.
Option 2 with $18 for 96 gallons container may have a higher recycling rate as the capacity is more and hence more waste can be put for recycling .
