OK , so i have a cart on a "frictionless track" that I pushed awayfrom a CBR ( which measures the speed of the cart) at the end ofthe cart there is a spring attached when it hits the end point itreturn I moves to the end of the track a distance of 1.25mand the calculated speed going is 0.6520 - when it returns ithas a speed of 0.3327 - what i am asked is to say why i havethis difference and obviously to explain it . the springmeasures 1 cm, the force is m pushing it . Can someone helpme cause i am stumped- i am sure it has to do with momentum orsomething -- but i dont know what -- the experiment is supposed tobe based on the laws of newton why would it return with about halfthe speed?LIfesave me please!!
