Two bobs of equal mass, but different shape. both tied to samelength of string. first is sphere, second is lengthy rod, tied atone end. which pendulum will give longer period? hint: think aboutcenter of mass and what it does for effective length.
what i think: the lengthy rod will give longer period becauseit's center of mass is farther and adds to the length....periodincreases with length. Right???? or am i thinking something wronghere?? Thank you! will rate lifesaver

the seconed is a lengthy rod so it is thin rod, center of mass of rod is center point of rod . the length ofrod taking upper end to center point of rod. this is comparetivelysmall becuse the length of first bob is upper end to centerof sphere. has a increase length
