Question

Why are my Vm and Im correct but my Vp and Ip incorrect? I get the same discrepancy on older version of Pspice.

Here is the problem from solution manual:(Fundamentals of Electric Circuits 5th, CH 12, 61P)

Here is my solution:

Any advice is appreciated!

Question: Given the circuit in Fig. 12.67, use PSpice to determine currents laA and voltage VBN A 1002 jl5 -j36 -j36 -j36 2402120 V 40 j3 10 jl5 Figure 12.67 Step 1 of 1 The schematic is shown below. Pseudocomponents IPRINT and PRINT are inserted to measure laA and VBN. In the AC Sweep box, we set Total Pts = 1. Start Freq = 0.1592, and End Freq = 0.1592. Once the circuit is simulated, we get an output file which includes FREQ VM(2 VP(2) 1.592 E-01 2.308 E+021.334 E+02 FREQ IM(V PRINT2) P(VPRINT2) 1.592 E-01 1.115 E+01 3.699 E+01 from which laA 11.1537A, VBN 230.8L-1 33.4° V = =

Explanation / Answer

You are not given the phase angles at the sources..,,

You must give the phase angle differences it is a three phase source

If you not giving the phasangles.., the peak values will not get any error why becuase the peak values are same in 3phases .., but RMS values will be vary becuase 3 times multiplied with the phase values and 30degrre phase displacement in line values..,

So you must give phase shift aslo..,
