4.Data Centers recovery plan; physical security of data center to both natural disasters and attacks

5.Data Backup-Multiple Internet providers to ensure access; have critical phone numbers call forward in an unreachable condition.

Explanation / Answer

Suppose, We are designing disaster recovery plan for an educational institute,

1. All teachers, support staff and some students who are medically fit should form disaster recovery functional team.

2. This team will work as "life and wealth savior" at the time of disaster and for other time, this team will work on regular duties and it will conduct training sessions for other institution members and students.

3. Risk assessment include which type of calamities can come across during everyday campus life, whether its manmade or natural. Team must assess it. Also, team must provide an alternate to every communication facility which will work at the time of emergency.

4. Data centers should be checked regularly. All types of risks must be taken into consideration while doing so. A recovery plan like backing up data on servers with proper security functions must be prepared.

5. Servers should be allocated for backup. Having multiple internet providers at same time ensures connectivity and keeps work rolling. Critical phone numbers should have an alternate which must be flashed to everywhere through Social media, main stream media and other possible modes. If provided early, its better than anything. If not, then must have a facility to forward calls on alternate number which must be working 24 × 7 hours.

6. Physical environment must be kept at optimum performance. Digital security is a priority for all type of digital works and back ups. Review and edits must take place if necessary.
