Hello,

My boss nominated me to serve on an IPPD team to bring Agile Systems Engineering principles into our corporate culture. According to the team leader, our success will be measured by the degree to which we successfully align our daily processes and tools with "Agile Manifesto" principles. I'm responsible for building the business case for making the investment in Agile processes and tools the team ultimately recommends to our corporate board. Based on preliminary estimates, I already understand how much it will cost to implement Agile, but can't quite figure out what the benefits will be. Sounds like a bunch of marketing terms to me!!!

Please send me two concise and comprehensive paragraphs describing the benefits of Agile Systems Engineering so I can complete my cost/benefit analysis.

Agile model is basically a incremental and iterative approach to the Software engineering and the results we obtain are small and step by step leading to the final results, so the working software can be delivered almost every week and if there is problem in the delivering of the software the engiineer will be taking much less time for the correction or the modification of the software as compared to the case when the delivery was done at the end of the project. So it saves a lot of time and cost for the company and for the clients.One more approach is that it divides the whole project to smaller managable and deliverable section, so the hadling of the project can be done in more efficient way.

And as the approach is to move step by step toward the end goal, the engineer knows almost all the aspects of the software and will not be cumbersome for him as a result any late changes in the software will not create a problem for the engineer and even the project is near end the modification can be easily done. There will be frequent meetings between the company and the employers regular small changes will be done on the softwares as per the reqiurement of the clients.Agile system approach is far better in case where the business requirements of the clients are frequently changing and there will be regular changes introduced in the project as compared to the case in which whole changes are done at the end in which the process become time taking and very much complex.
