You are a construction engineer working on a large concrete foundation project, involving the placement of over 500,000 c.y of concrete. The construction site is adjacent to a salt-water source (bay) & it is decided to set up a concrete batch plant on site. The project schedule shows that the various concrete pours are to take place from April to September. • What considerations would you make with regards to cement type, aggregate, water quality, and admixtures? Explain your considerations in detail.

Coinsideration for the cement:
-the grade of concrete to be used depending on the type and budget of the construction
-the nearby places it is avaliable
-the cost per silos(50 kgs)
-the most optimal transportation option
-the place to store the cement at the site
-to aquire the necessary eqipment for the mixing of the cement and the ingradients
-whether the concrete will be placed below the roof or directly below the sky..as the months also includes rainy seasons in many areas
-from where the cement packages will be stored in cases of shortage at the site.
For the aggregates a person should confirm that the raw materials should be bought to the required shape and size becase if workable mix is required at the site the the aggreagate have to be round not flanky or angular.
Same with the size of the aggregate because if the aggregates are smaller that the required size then it will cause a concrete mix with many viods. Similarly when the size of the aggregates is bigger than reqiured the the necessary interlocking will not happen and the required strength of the concrete will not be acheived.
For the water, we have options like to take the water from bay and run the necessary steps to make it fit for mixing or get water from the alternate source which is more suitable for the concrete mix.
