I would like you to research disasters that have occurred (current or in the past) and see what you can learn about the companies impacted by the disaster.

See if you can locate one instance where it was apparent that the company involved in the disaster was not prepared for the recovery process from the disaster, due to lack of either 1) a disaster recovery plan or 2) a poorly designed disaster recovery plan.

Outline the facts you located which shows how the company was unable to get up and running after the disaster because of poor planning.

Go do some research and see what you can find.

One good example of when the lack of a disaster recovery plan, a poorly designed plan or some other factor impacted the ability for a company get back on its feet after a disaster.

I would like to talk about the floods which occured in Thailand in the year 2011 which impacted lives to a great extent and hampered the growth of Thailand to agreat extent.

The flood occured both because of natural and man made perturbing factors. The occurence of flood was sensed and notified by the meteorological department but not such awareness was made to the people also due to the less amount of time available to take action plan. This resulted in to great loss of GDP of the country.

Most of the sectors and companies where affected by this flood. The most impacted business was of electronics components manufacturing. The company had not prepared for recovery as such because it never expected such a disaster. As a consequence, because of the companies poor recovery plans and less actions taken previously regarding this issue it faced a huge loss in the market and still is tryin gto recover from the issue due to huge loss.
