While Surveying, A Guide Meridian is run in 1861 with corners at 40 chain increments. In 1888 GLO subdivides the township to the east, and must set closing corners on the GM. In 1891 GLO subdivides the township to the west and due to its east boundary being out of limits for measurement, and therefor sets closing corners as well. The original 40 increment corners on the GM are now:
