1. I have chosen dairy farming and lactose tolerance trait. lactose is a milk sugar is broken down by enzyme lactase. in some human population due to cow milk consumption lactase persistance is recently evolved as an adaptation due to consumption of non human milk. majority of world population remains lactose nonpersistant.
2.the lactose persistance is totally a phenomena associated with natural selection.it is genetical as lactose persistant show high mRNA expression for lactase activity. in lactose non persistant low mRNA expression is seen result in low lactase activity. lactase is enzyme that break down lactose it is encoded by the gene LCT.
3. LACTOSE persistance was due to the presence of haplotype. about 80% of european population we can see this. this haplotype came from from very strong selective pressure , it is strongly related with geographical distribution of human population. so the trait varies population to population.
