Question
What is the net torque about the axle if T1 = 26 N and T2 = 32 N? (SEE DIAGRAM BELOW
What I know:
Torque = Force x radius(in meters) x sin();
=Frsin where is measured counterclockwise from the r vector to the F vector
The net torque on the pully about the axle is the torque due to the 32N force plus the torque due to the 26N force. Keep in mind that clockwise torque is negative.
The issue here is that I do not know the angles between the r vector and the F vector, so I cannot apply the formula. Please Help! Thank You!
The answer is supposed to be ____________ N*m clockwise
Explanation / Answer
-(26N)(.02)+(32N)(.02) = .12
