1. A crystalline style is a long, transparent, gelatinous rod shaped structure that protrude out from the alimentary canal of a molluscs. it helps in digestion.

2. During moulting, the digestive enzymes are secreted between the old and new cuticle but it remains inactive during the time of new cuticle formation. once the new cuticle is formed, the insect will crawle out from the old one. and the new cuticle will not get digested.
