Question

The problem statement, all variables andgiven/known data[/b] A lens having a focal length 50 cm is used as a simple magnifier.
What is the angular magnification obtained when the image is formed at the normal near point (25 cm)?

2. Relevant equations
1) m = N/d, where d is distance of object
2) m = 1 + N/f
3. The attempt at a solution

I don't really get what do they want as the answer.
Also, there are two equations, which one do I use?
THanks! :) The problem statement, all variables andgiven/known data[/b] A lens having a focal length 50 cm is used as a simple magnifier.

Explanation / Answer

(a)The angular magnification for a simple magnifier is

M = (25 cm/f)

It seem that we can make the angular magnification as large aswe like by decreasing the focal length f.
