1)Describe the structure of a typical E. coli gene and how transcription would be initiated at the gene?2)Members of the genus Mycoplasma stain Gram negative although the taxonomically grouped with Gram positive bacteria. The organism Deincoccous radiodurans grouped with the Gram negative alpha-Proteobacteria, yet it typically stains Gram positive. Why are these organisms grouped in this fashion as opposed to be classified according to the Gram stain?
(what i thought for #2 was its similarity to the bacteria groups down to the molecular level, not the phenotypic)
