Question
I am trying to find the answer for the question as below. Please review, and tell me whether this is right or wrong. Thankyou for your time. Question #72 - A child goes down a playground slide that isinclined at an angle of 26.5 below the horizontal. Find theacceleration of the child given that the coefficient of kineticfriction between the child and the slide is 0.315. So, what i did was mew sub k = 0.315, friction sub k = mew sub k * N, mew sub k = - ma N= mg therefore, I can write, -ma/(mg)=mew sub k and then, I find my accelration by doing; a= - mew sub k * g z= - 0.315 * 9.81 = -3.09 m/s^2 Is this sound right? From free body diagram we can write mgsin - fk = ma Where fk = kN=k mgcos ==> mgsin - kmgcos = ma ==> a = g ( sin - kcos ) = 9.8 ( sin26.5 - 0.315 * cos26.5 ) = 1.61 m/s2
