Hungtintons Disease, Fragile XE Mental retardation and Myotinic Dystrophy are caused by the expansion of trinuclpeotide repeats.

The trinulceotide expansion happens due to slipage during replication. During DNA replication, the trinucleoptide repeats causes the DNA polymerase to slip hence forming more coppies of the repeated sequence. Thus, with every cycle of replication the copy number increases.

The expanded trinuleotide repeats sequences once crossed the threshold. The protien formed is a mutated protien thus having an altered function hence causing the disease.
