Consider the following comment about this situation: -2 There will be zero net electric force on the charge in the middle due to the other charges. Using Coulomb's law, the force due to the +Q charge is positive and the force due to the- charge is negative. The forces cancel. a. Do you agree with this statement? Explain. b. How does Coulomb's law apply to situations in which there are more than two point charges?Explanation / Answer
A) No I don't agree. The force will not cancel out as negative charge will tend to attract the middle charge and te positive charge will tend to repel it. Overall both of them will force the movement in same direction and so forces will not cancel.
B) In case of multiple charge we need to find our the distance between the charge and use it with the normal formula.
