Explanation / Answer

net resistance when resistors are in series = R1 + R2

net resistance of resistors when resistors are in parallel = 1 / (1 / R2 + 1 / R2)

9 ohm resistor and R3 are parallel so

1 / Ra = 1 / 9 + 1 / R3

1 / Ra = 1 / 9 + 1 / 12

Ra = 5.143 ohm

R2 and 6 ohm resistor are in series so,

Rb = 6 + R2

Rb = 6 + 11

Rb = 17 ohm

Rb and Ra are parallel so,

1 / Rc = 1 / Ra + 1 / Rb

1 / Rc = 1 / 5.143 + 1 / 17

Rc = 3.948 ohm

Rc and R1 are in series

Rd = R1 + Rd

Rd = 7 + 3.948

Rd = 10.948 ohm

Rd and 20 ohm resistors are in parallel so,

1 / Rnet = 1 / Rd + 1 / 20

1 / Rnet = 1 / 10.948 + 1 / 20

Rnet = 7.075 ohm

net resistance between point A and B = 7.075 ohm

Rab = 99 ohm

1 / Rbc = 1 / 99 + 1 / 99

Rbc = 49.5 ohm

Rac = 99 + 49.5

Rac = 148.5 ohm
