Biotechnology and genetic engineering is exploiting the biological world in an unprecedented manner and has left the concept of uniqueness of species over the shelf. This has raised various issues concerned with the life and safety of living organisms. These issues are termed as biosafety issues.
It should'nt be stop entirely however its work should be monitored and regulated properly. In order to look into biotechnological concerns, givernment in India has set up an organization called GEAC (Genetic Engineering Approval Commitee) that makes decisions regarding the validity of genetic engineering research and safety of use of GMOs for service of mankind.
