Explanation / Answer
1) the potato in the water placed in isotonic environment.. As the concentration of the both inside and outside the potato is same hence isotonic..!!
2) the potato is present in hypertonic environment as the concentration outside the potato is higher than the inner due to the presence of salts present outside..!!
3) It is due to turgor pressure which is applied from the cell on the cell wall towards outside hence the shape remains constant..!!
4) osmosis is a condition in which the movement takes place from region of higher water potential to region of lower concentration. Hence to avoid this which can lead to outer movement hence can lead to saggy salad hence to avoid it I is removed just before eating
