(a) as the switch is closed, the current in the outer loop increases from zero to maximum and is flowing in clockwise direction. According to Lenzs law, the induced current will try to reduce the original current. so the onduced current in the inner loop is in counter clockwise direction.

( b) when the switch stays at its position, the current becomes constant and is not changing.Hence there will be no induced current.
