Time taken to fall = 2.75 s

Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s2

Vertical velocity of block just before hitting water = 0+(9.8*2.75)=26.95m/s

Speed of block = sqrt(3.222+26.952)=27.14m/s

kinetic energy = (1/2)mv2 = (1/2)*0.05*27.142=18.42 Joules
