Explanation / Answer

Answer - X will be a competitive inhibition which have a tendency to occupy enzyme active site , because its structure is similar to substrate. If both inhibitor and substrate are in same amount in reaction mixture the inhibitor has a probability to occupy active site as the substrate.so in this case inhibitor bind to the active site of enzyme and prevent substrate bind to it and thus not allow enzyme catalysed reaction to proceed.

This problem can overcome with the large concentration of substrate which has high probability to occupy active site as compare to inhibitor and substrate will over compete with inhibitor. The apperent Km value will increase as it takes high concentration of substrate to reach Km point or half the value of Vmax .
