Capacitor is a circuit element and can store electric charge. A capacitor consists of two or three conductors. Capacitance is a capacity. Just like the capacity of a milk-bottle is the volume of milk it can store. The capacitance of a capacitor is the amount of maximum charge the capacitor can store. Capacitance is a capacity. The amount of charge stored in a capacitor is proportional to the voltage difference between the two conductors of the capacitor.
