Question
Problem 26.34 Determine the magnitudes and directions of the currents in each resistor shown in the figure. The batteries have emfs of E1 8.4 V and E 11.7 V and the resistors have values of R 312, R2 35 2, and R 40 S2 Figure 1 Figure 1 of 1 Part A Ignore internal resistance of the batteries Express your answers using two significant figures. Enter your answers numerically separated by commas. AE I1, 12, B Submit My Answers Give U Part B O Il is directed to the left o I is directed to the right. Here ,
let the current in the resistance R1 is I1
current R2 is I2
current R3 is I3
Using KCL
I1 + I2 - I3 = 0
Using KVL
8.4 - 31 * I1 + 35 * I2 =0
again
11.7 + 40 * I3 + 35 * I2 = 0
solving for I1 , I2 , I3
I1 = 0.059 A
I2 = -0.188 A
I3 = -0.123 A
the magnitude of currents is (0.059 A , 0.188 A , 0.123 A)
b)
I1 is directed to the right
c)
I2 is directed to the left
d)
I3 is directed to the upward
