Question
While the loop is moving into the region of constant magnetic field, the magnitude of the induced EMF is?
While the loop is moving into the region of constant magnetic field, the magnitude of the magnetic force acting on the loop is
out of the page, into the page, to the top of the page, to the bottom of the page, to the right to the left, While the loop is moving into the region of constant magnetic field, the direction of the magnetic force acting on the loop is:
Explanation / Answer
the external magnetic field in the region is in out of the page direction. As the loop enters the external magnetic field , the magnetic flux linked with the loop increases in out of the page direction. To resist the change in its magnetic flux , the loop induces a current in it to produce opposite magnetic field in inward direction. for producing the magnetic field in down direction , the direction of induced current must be clockwise (CW)
L = length of loop cutting ther magnetic field lines = a = 0.39 m
v = speed of loop = 15.7 m/s
B = magnetic field = 0.27 T
induced emf is given as
E = BLv = 0.27 x 0.39 x 15.7 = 1.65 volts
induced current is given as
i = E/R = 1.65 /2.63 = 0.63 A
magnetic force is given as
F = i B L = 0.63 x 0.27 x 0.39 = 0.066 N
