Question 1 Choose one of the resources from this modules reading assignment (chapters 1,5, & 6), and in a short essay describe the mining, use, and impact of this resource. With all of the resources listed, there is a reason geologically it got there, a way for us to get it out, a use in human lives, and a cost to the environment, this is what your essay should focus on. With almost all resources there are debates as to envrionmental proctection vs what humans need to live in the lifestyle we are used to, discuss this debate. Aluminum is a very important resource which is used in various day to day activities and also for industrial purposes.

Aluminum is extracted from bauxite having the formula Al2O3.2H2O the ore is first extacted and then extraction of mineral from ore takes place. It is silvery white soft, non magnetic in nature

It is used in making transportation vehicles as sheet,tube,castings

In making aluminum goil for packaging

In construction of windows ,door etc

In making wires and cables which are used for conductance

The rock mining is done to get the ore of aluminum which in turn causes asbestos pollution in the environment.
