Question
I got the first question. But I don't know how to set up the second part. A Car Going Around a Bend 01 Due in 18 hours, 57 minut A car is traveling around a bend at a speed of 17.5 m/s. The bend has a radius of curvature of 71.2 m. What is the centripetal acceleration of the car? 4.30 m/s 2 iaEards recent rn correct. Your receipt no, is 154-119 Friction is the only force acting towards the center of the circle. If the mass of the car is 794 kg, what is the force of friction required to make the car go around the bend "the man softhe 794kgh ar Tries 1/10 Erevieus Iriss Suppose the car travels twice as fast around the bend. What is the force of friction required to make the car go around the bend? Post DiscussionExplanation / Answer
Ans: a) If v be the speed of the car then acceleration a = v2/r ; where r is the radius of curvature. Here v =17.5 m/sec and r =71.2 m ; So , acceleration a = 4.30 m/sec^2.
b)now if m be the mass of the car then the friction force(F) =m*v2/r ; Here m=794 kg. So Force F =3415.2 N
c) Now the car speed(v1) is twice of the initial(v) speed, so v1 = 2*v; then the friction force F =m*v12/r =4m*v2/r
So F= 13660.8 N
