Question
Please help with both part A and part B of this question!
Question 1
PART A
A well with a screen that is 0.50m long and 30cm diameter is installed into the sandstone. If the pumping creates a hydraulic gradient of 0.10, how many liters per day would this well produce (remember 1000 cm3 = 1 liter). Area of cylinder: A = 2*r*L + 2*r2, BUT wells are not screened on the top/bottom of a cylinder, so the area of the screen is A = 2*r*L
PART B
What would the hydraulic conductivity of this aquifer be if it were saturated with crude oil whose density is 0.80168 g/cm3 and viscosity is 2.01 g/s-cm?
Explanation / Answer
Answer:
Part A) A = 2rL + 2r2 = ( 2 x x 0.5 x 30 ) + ( 2 x x 0.52 ) 95.81858
A = 95.82
Part B) 0.80168 / 2.01 = 0.398 mm
