Question

1)What do we mean by net force and net work. 2) what’s the difference between kinetic, potential, elastic mechanical, internal and thermal energy and what’s the difference between work and energy. 3) bernoulli’s principle of fluids stated that net work is the sum of differences in kinetic energy and potential energy. But While I was studying the notion of work done by conservative and nonconservative forces they stated that net work is only the difference in kinetic energy while - delta PE is the work done by only conservative forces and the work done by non conservative forces was equal to the mechanical energy which is the sum of differences in kinetic energy and potential energy. Then according to what has been stated above why net work isn’t equal to the work done by non conservative forces equal to the mechanical energy. I am a bit confused, can you explain to me the difference?

Explanation / Answer

Net force:is the total force acting on a body it is algebraic sum of all forces act on body.

Net work.net work done or total work done on a body /system or by the body system has same meaning. If you do different work in aday then what is total work done at end of day is your net work done.

Energy.energy is just what you can do or it is work done by u by all available energy u have or system or a engine.capacity of doing work is energy if u are hungry u can't do work if it bikes have no fuel it can't move.so work and energy are same entity with the difference that if u have energy you can do work.so when we calculate any kind of energy we always calculate corresponding work done.

We define type of energy based on there uses or production if light is produced by bulb it is light energy hot body have thermal energy and so on.

Potential energy is defined for conservative system where work done is path independentsI so it confusion is right just go little more study and link it brain with dally life examples.
