Question
Graph 6: Plot v [velocity) vrs r [time,. It is lincar and the slope is the acceleration a. Obtain the acceleration value from this graph. Compare this value with the one from Graph 2 Post-experiment questions Question D +Objects of different mass were used to see if the acceleration due to gravity depends on the mass of sliding objects. In other words, does a heavier object fall faster that a lighter object? What was your expectation and what do your experimental result show? Question 2) Wht is probability the greatest source of er in the experimental procedure? Is it random or systematics error?Explanation / Answer
Question 1 - any object that falls toward the earth's surface at the rate of 9.8 m/s2. All the objects accelerate at same rate no matter of it is heavy and light. However, in real world, air resistance may affect this as a feather will be greatly affected by air and will fall after a heavy rock. However in a vacuum both will fall at the same pace as there is no air. So we can say that in absence of air resistance, heavy and light object will fall at same speed.
Question 2 - what are systematic error. These are errors caused by the way in which the experiment was conducted. In other words, they are caused by the design of the system. As per the understanding, our readings depend on where we are.performing our experiments, whether in vacuum or in normal environment.
