T - m2 g = - m2 a (the sign here is neg since the heavier mass will accelerate down)
subtract equations to solve for a:
a = (m2-m1)g/(m1+m2) = 0.6 kg *9.8m/s/s / 4.4 kg = 1.336m/s/s
substitute into either equation to find T:
