Longest day in Santa Barbara is 14 hrs 16 mins long which occurs on 21st June. This phenomenon is due to Summer Solstice in Northern Hemisphere.

Shortest day in Santa Barbara is 9 hrs 43 mins long which occurs on 21st December. This phenomenon is due to Winter Solstice in Northern Hemisphere.

b)

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of disorder in which the person affected by this disorder gets depression that is related to change in the seasons of the habitat of the person affected by it. Usually SAD begins and ends at about the same times every year.

Signs and symptoms of Seasonal affective disorder may include the following:

·         Feeling depressed in most times of the day, or nearly every day

·         Losing interest in activities.

·         Having low energy and stamina.

·         Sleeping disorder.

·         Experiencing changes in your weight

·         Feeling sluggish or agitated most of the time.

·         Having difficulty concentrating in daily jobs.

·         Feeling hopeless and worthless.

Since, I do not have the above mentioned symptoms, so I think I do not have Seasonal Affective Disorder.

c)

Daylight Saving Time is the practice of setting the clocks forward by one hour from standard time during the months of summer, and setting it back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural daylight or sunshine.

According to Pacific Daylight Time the sun in the sky will be at its highest altitude at Noon (12 pm) in summer.
