Question
Hi! I'm working on a torque worksheet, but I'm stuck on a question. I don't know how to answer this little table!
14. The equations of equilibrium (St 30, F 300 are applied to two different examples shown below. Fill in the table that follows using the information in the equations. a) 2*0.25+N*0+1.0*0- T2*0.40=0
0.5-T2 0.40=0
T2=0.5/0.40 = 1.25 N
-2.0+N-1.0-T2=0
-2.0+N-1.0-1.25=0
N=4.25 newtons
b) 0-1-6+T1*0.6=0
T1=11.67 N
F cos theta- 11.67*0.7986=0
F costheta=9.32 ,
Fsintheta= 8-11.67*0.60 = 0.9768
F= Sqrt(9.32^2 + 0.9768^2) = 9.37 N
Theta= tan inverse(0.9768/9.32) = 5.98 degrees
I have done the unkown quantities in each equations , Now you can describe the situation and draw that accordingly. While drwaing remember negative tourque is clockwise, Positive tourque is anticlockwise. For forces up is positive,own is ngative. Righ is positive left is negative.
And whenver you see in case of touque timesd wuth zero that means that force is at the pivot or passing through the pivot.
