Question
If a plant is allowed to grow from seed on a rotating platform, it will grow at an angle, pointing inward.
Part A
Calculate what this angle will be (put yourself in the rotating frame) in terms of g, r, and .
Express your answer in terms of the variables r, , and appropriate constants.

Since the plant is allowed to grow on a rotating platform, it will be under the influence of two forces, that the gravity actinbg vertically down and centripital force twowards the center of the circlular path.
a(gravity) = g (along y)
a(centripital) = v^2/r = w^2 r^2/r = w^2 r (along x)
The angle that the plant will grow will be
tan(theta) = a(gravity)/a(centripital)
tan(theta) = g/w^2 r
theta = tan -1 [g/(w^2 r)]
