as the string is hanging away from vertical towards front means that horizontal component of tension in acting in backward direction which is required to accelerate the string in backward direction so following stuations could be there

1. plane acclerating in backward direction which means that we cannot reject option b. so both option b and d may be correct

2. plane may be moving forward but deaccelarating in that case also a backward force is required on string. so option a may also be correct.

so in total we can say that more than one answer above must be true.

hence option e is correct
